University of Kentucky College of Arts & Sciences

A&S Alumni and Giving

The College of Arts & Sciences offers numerous ways for its alumni to stay connected through events, networking and giving.

Laura Hamilton never dreamed she would be able to travel abroad, let alone 4,000 miles to Scandinavia. Her dream became reality when she received an A&S international studies scholarship made possible by generous alumni and friends of the college.

John-Paul Volk found enouragement and motivation through the Robert B. and Helen P. Jewell Scholarship Foundation, Inc. He not only received a four-year, $20,000 academic scholarship, he formed a close relationship with Linda Jewell Strojan, the daughter of the Jewells and foundation president.

The College of Arts & Sciences currently has 36,000 living alumni. It is through the generosity of A&S alumni and friends that the college has been able to improve the level of education today's Arts & Sciences students receive. In 2006, due to their boundless generosity wtih gifts and pledges, the college received more than $8 million. That made 2006 the biggest year for giving in over a decade.

Make sure you are connected to our vast alumni network by joining the college in any of its many events organized throughout the year. From the annual Blazer Lecture to the student-run Geek Week, the Hall of Fame Induction to the Homecoming Tailgate - the options are endless.
