Academic Scholarships

The College of Arts & Sciences offers a limited number of academic scholarships to incoming first year students as well as currently enrolled UK students with majors in the College. Awards are announced each April for the following academic year. Mid-year and summer awards are not made.

Entering freshman students must first apply to the University Academic Scholarship program. The College of Arts & Sciences will consider all students who list an A&S major on their university scholarship application for awards for which they are eligible.

Students currently enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences should read the informational brochure and the 2007-08 application.

Travel Grants

The College of Arts & Sciences offers awards for international travel. These awards are for independent travel abroad to specified cities and sites, not for formal programs through Education Abroad. To learn more, please obtain a brochure from the A&S Advising Center, 257 Patterson Office Tower.

The Holocaust consists of one Caller-Zolondek travel scholarship and two A&S international scholarships of $2000 each. The Holocaust application is due either January 15, 2008, or February 15, 2008, and depends on the particular grant for which you apply. See brochure for exact deadlines.

The history department offers Italian Renaissance and Spain: The Islamic, Judaic, Christian Encounter. Contact Gretchen Star-LeBeau, gretchen.star.lebeau@uky.edu for information on each of these $1000 scholarships.

If you have questions about scholarships or the travel grants contact Cindy Iten.
